BiographyMeyer, Thelma Marie, age 98, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at Oak Creek Terrace, Kettering, OH. She was born November 20, 1911 in Crooksville, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Elwood C. Meyer and also by four brothers, three sisters and their spouses. She is survived by sons, Ronald (Rosemarie), of Beavercreek and Douglas (Denise), of Laurel, Maryland. She is also survived by Ron's children, Jeffrey (Tamara) Meyer, of Santa Cruz, CA, Teresa (William) Spatz, of Beavercreek, OH, Lisa (Dan) White, of Hilliard, OH, Scott Meyer, of Tahoe City, CA and Gregory (Eileen) Meyer, of Berwyn, IL; Douglas’ children, Kimberly (Shawn) Crow, of Sykesville, MD, Karen (Mike) Piotrowski, of Odenten, MD, Kevin (Tammy) Meyer, of Laurel, MD; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was a long-time resident of Indian Lake and a member of the Indian Lake Community Church, where she was active in various church groups. She moved to Beavercreek’s Fairwood Village and in December of 2008 to Oak Creek Terrace. She was an avid quilter and loved music and visiting with her children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Reverend Jim Ellington, officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of Oak Creek for their care and friendship and the staff of Hospice of Dayton.
